Gorgeous location ✔️ Gorgeous families ✔️ Gorgeous weather ✔️

A few times a year, I partner with a local moms group to do seasonal mini sessions.

These days are always crazy busy (like, 10+ sessions a day), but SO MUCH FUN!

I love being able to connect with that many families in a single day.

This past weekend I spent the day at the Community Arboretum at Virginia Western Community College for Spring Minis. The weather was perfect-mostly overcast with the sun peeking out at just the right times. When you’re shooting this many sessions throughout the day, cloud coverage is a photographer’s best friend. This way, I didn’t have to move around a million times over the course of the day to avoid direct sunlight. I could leave my watering can/crate/flower set up in the same spot the entire time, while moving around here and there to “mix it up” for group shots.

Every family I worked with brought something unique to their session, but every single one was so sweet and I had a hard time narrowing down the images for their galleries. That’s the sign of a successful day!

Thank you to everyone who came out to spend the day with me. I hope to work with you all again soon!
